Special Announcement Dear, clients, animal lovers and friends of Healing Place, I'm writing this letter with hope that it will find you and your animal companion well. Time flies and it has been 10 years since the opening of Healing Place and 20 years since my graduation from the Veterinary College in 1988. I feel fortunate to have been able to work with you and your animal friends and make a difference in their lives. It is you and your four legged friend(s) who taught me about the precious nature of the human-animal bond. This connection reaches beyond their physical presence and reaches the very depth of our soul. Throughout the years, I have learned that no matter how impossible some dreams may be, we can achieve them with the right attitude and determination. I've been able to witness miracles on the level of animal healing, that have also ignited the spark of many personal transformations. It appears that animals have been placed on this Earth to help us find our own way, bring the best out of us and teach us how to love and be good. It is true that I too have learned the incredible value of this gift, willing to give up any material possession or pleasure for the precious time with my own pets and their health. In reality, working with my patients and clients has made me experience and learn from hundreds of lives at once. I have been able to see the patterns and situation that bring health or disease, recovery or failure. Open mind, the right positive attitude, dedication, and love are the true healers. Gradually, my job has evolved from being the prescriber and healer in charge to being more of a guide on your journey of discovering your own healing power, helping you to understand clearly that your decisions, your dedication and beliefs, your love are the most influential powers in the healing process, stronger than any medicine in the world. I have been reminded daily that ocean of untapped learning and knowledge that is truly unlimited and the key to this precious resource is courage, passion for learning and open mind. The failures on this journey have made me become more persistent and accept the good results with humility and gratitude. While enjoying the part of working with my clients and patients, I started to feel increasingly uneasy that I could not find more time to share the gift of knowledge beyond the limited number patients I could see. Every time I saw animals suffering unnecessarily either from mistreatment or more often the consequences of lack of knowledge of people looking after them, I felt like I have not done enough to help. It became clear that I needed to dedicate more time to writing and educating the general public. In contrary to this goal I seemed like I had to spend increasing number of hours with running the practice, looking after training staff, ensuring that the quality of the service and care is of the highest standards. Until recently I saw no viable solutions to this situation and create enough space to start this new phase of my professional life. Perhaps it was not a coincidence that my experienced colleagues and friends Julie Anne Lee and Dr. David Ruish joined my practice a year and a half ago. Since then, Healing Place has more then doubled in the number of clients seen and I believe that Julie and David helped Healing Place becoming one of the most progressive centers of holistic animal healing in Vancouver and Canada. In addition, Julie Anne has established the first veterinary school of homeopathy in Canada that is starting its first year in September 2008. She is also a person who I can trust to look after my patients and clients very well. I've also grown to admire Dr. David Ruish for his knowledge and professionalism as well as his grounded, kind and personal approach to his patients and clients. As we have worked together towards the same goal I concluded that this valuable partnership and friendship could be the answer to my dilemma of needing more time. When Julie Anne mentioned to me that she wanted to open a teaching hospital connected to Healing Place, I realized that this could be an opportunity to pursue my vision of reaching more people through writing, teaching and spreading the important message of holistic healing. I am writing this letter to inform you that I will be leaving Healing Place August 31st, with confidence of knowing that the new owner of Healing Place - Julie Anne Lee and her team will look after your animal companion with love, care and professionalism you deserve. Trust that it has not been easy to make the decision and I hope that you will welcome this upcoming change. I have been informed that there are some of the best teachers coming to teach to the newly founded College of Animal Homeopathic Medicine. I have also been invited and accepted the offer to become one of the guest teachers and will continue to be connected with Healing Place on that level. Foremost, I would like to thank you for your very much appreciated support and dedication. Words cannot express enough how much I have enjoyed working with you, cherishing many moments and memories of time spent together.
